Very good gear! I love them and so do the Lingcod and rockfish. Been getting quick limits
I purchased the smaller ones for use in high mountain lakes for lake trout. Have had luck on a few medium size fish. I use an underwater camera, and can see the awesome action even in 50 to 60 ft of water. Would love to get a 2", 3", and/or 4" version, along with a squid rig for each for smaller fish. Excited to use these this winter again!
Never had a chance to use them yet due to Alaska’s fall weather hopefully I can squeeze a trip in before snow fall.. I sure I’ll catch my limit with this jig!
I'm very impressed with the quality and the action that I see in the ultimate squid, squid rig and drunken mullet I purchased. Everything I was looking for.
So we went out for our few days of Red Snapper fishing we get each year here in Florida and decided to try out the squid with the 1.5oz squid rig. The snapper went crazy over them. So much so, that on one drop and retrieve I had a snapper follow it all the way up to the boat, I stopped reeling when it got to the surface and left it drop back down a couple feet and the snapper came up to it, nudged it, the swallowed it. Landed that 20lbs snapper. Continued using it that weekend and the next with the same results. It was rare to drop it in the water without it getting hit. Lost a couple due to huge strikes. Kingfish are known to inhabit the area we were at an we believe they were biting right through the 130lbs mono leader I was using. Plan to try again using a wire leader next time to see what else was taking them other than the snapper! Long story short, these things are amazing. I've already bought more to replace the lost ones and just ordered some of the new 3oz rigs that should work better with the offshore bottom fishing I do.
